Fishing Report - 10.22.19

Fall colors are in full swing and fishing has been holding steady with both dry and nymphs producing. Long leaders ending with 6x mono tippet will work well for dries. When nymphing switch to fluorocarbon tippet but stay on the 6x range.

With drought conditions plaguing most of the region fishing low water has become the norm lately.

With low water fish will be clustered together in deeper pools. Work from pool to pool, not spending a lot of time in shallow water. Try to keep the fight as short as possible and leave the fish in the water as long as you can with a quick release. Be sure to take the net with you. The less stress to the fish the better.

This is a great time of the year to fish the Gunpowder river. Get out on the water and enjoy Mother Nature's beauty.
