Fly fishing can seem intimidating. Casting looks hard to do. Knowing what kind of fly to use can be a difficult decision. Once you are able to cast accurately, where's the best place to cast your fly?

An intro to fly fishing class will answer these questions and more. Designed with the beginner in mind, intro classes will cover basic elements of the sport:

     - basic fly casting

     - knot tying

     - proper gear selection

     - reading the water

     - safe wading practices

     - and more!

Classes are held riverside and include the use of our fly rods, reels, waders and boots, flies, leaders and tippet. Students may bring their own gear if they choose.

Need help with your 2 wt presentation? Is the double haul just not working for you?

Or are you a freshwater trout guy that is headed for your first saltwater trip? Or maybe you need a refresher with that old 8 wt in the closet?

A casting lesson will help you refine your skills for whatever goal you have in mind. Lessons are held riverside, with casting on both land and water, and include the use of our fly rods, reels, waders and boots, flies, leaders and tippet.

The future of fly fishing is in our youth's hands. As a current fly fishing merit badge counselor with the Boy Scouts of America, Rich Dennison is committed to helping scouts earn this achievement.

Scout fly fishing merit badge clinics are designed for any scout actively working on a fly fishing badge. On this trip, fly rods, reels, waders and boots, flies, leaders and tippet will be provided.

Trips are 2 hours and include instruction and fishing time to fulfill necessary requirements to earn the badge.

Scouts must present a Scoutmaster signed blue card (or equivalent for other scouting organizations) to qualify for the free trip.
